Welcome to the latest installment of Celluloid Mixtape. Designer and graphic artist Talia Bowles will take you on an emotive journey through the 2023 film Scrapper, written and directed by Charlotte Regan. Scrapper is a subtle film about the loss of a parent and the unexpected gaining of an estranged one. Drawing on the film’s colorful graphic charm, imagination and heartwarming moments, Bowles sonically explores the film’s themes of childhood, grief and coping with growing up way too young for both child and parent. It was a pleasure producing this for Talia to celebrate our own friendship, her creativity and tap into our own girlhood for this broadcast. Enjoy.
